DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAMS ---In the 9-12 age group, the curriculum focuses on Christian virtue. In the 13-16 age group, boys continue to learn virtue but the focus is on apologetics, or learning how to explain and defend their faith. ---Every six-week cycle covers a specific theme. There are two six-week cycles per quarter (three months). Payment of fees is quarterly. ---Weekly activities feature sports (basketball, soccer or frisbie), a talk on virtue or Catholic doctrine, and a group activity or game which illustrates the talk in a practical way. Besides the weekly activites, in every six-week cycle there is a half-day spiritual retreat and a half-day outreach activity to serve the poor or underprivileged. In every quarter there is a special outing to have fun together as a group (e.g., laser tag, paintball, fishing, movies, etc.). Twice a year there are overnight activities: a weekend retreat in November and a four-day summer camp in April or May. ---All of these activities are conducted in an atmosphere of fun and social interaction, emphasizing friendship with Christ, the practice of Christian virtues (especially charity), and service to the community. One of the greatest benefits of ConQuest is that it creates a positive peer group for children and teens. |
